Rotary El Tour de Tucson for PolioPlus

The UMC El Tour De Tucson is the largest perimeter bicycling event in the United States and for the 2nd year will provide Rotarians an opportunity to ride for Polio Plus this November 20, 2010.

Rotarians can choose rides ranging from 35, 66, 80 or 109 miles around the perimeter of Tucson , Arizona USA .  Any Rotary Club in the World can enter a team of 1 or more riders and have friends or fellow Rotarians contribute dollars per mile that will go toward that individual Rotary Clubs Polio Plus 3 yr matching commitment.

Registration to ride must be on the Registration form downloaded from this site and contain the Rotary logo. The registration fee is $100 and reflects the organizational costs incurred to put on the event.  Payee and mailing information is contained on the official application form.

This is a District 5500 effort that was initiated by the Casas Adobes Rotary ( Tucson ) in 2009.

Rotary International has assigned a booth to the District at the Convention in Montreal to promote this ride.

Volunteer Rotarians going to Montreal are being asked to staff this booth in 2 hour shifts from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day of the Convention beginning Sat. June 19 and ending Wed. June 23.  It will be a great opportunity to meet Rotarians from around the World and perhaps have them come to Tucson in November to ride with us in the UMC El Tour De Tucson/Polio Plus event.

If you would like to volunteer to spend 2 hours on 1 or more days of the Convention please email Mike Harris at mharris@longrealty.com.  He will work with you for a day and time.
