Dear
District 5500 Rotarians:
Rotary
is such a unique organization. We
are the only organization that changes leadership at every level
annually; and as such we grow leaders for our communities.
The
Rotary theme announced by President Elect John Kenny for our year:
“The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands!”
is very appropriate for our times.
As we each face economic challenges individually or collectively
as a club, we acknowledge that the needs of the communities we serve:
local, regional, national and international are also growing. Never
before has Rotary been so relevant.
Never before have we seen the need for service to others and for
ethical and value driven leadership.
As
a local leader you understand the need to grow your clubs by building
committed members. Committed members provide the hands and the resources
to change the circumstances of our times! Growing our clubs by building
committed members grows future leaders, contributes to the final
eradication of polio and promotes peace through health, water and
educational opportunities.
The
Future of Rotary is indeed in our hands.
I am up for the challenge and invite you to join me this year in
continuing District 5500’s fine traditions of service above self, a
commitment to peace and the development of future leaders.
Yours
in Rotary,
Steven R. DiMuzio
District Governor 2009-2010
