A Friendship Exchange Opportunity

District Governor Don Jorgensen will be leading a Rotary Friendship Exchange with District 3000 in southern India (Tamil Nadu) for up to eight individuals from our district. Dates are from February 6, 2024 to February 15/16, 2024. In April 2024, our district will welcome a similar party from India to southern Arizona.

Deadline for submission of proposed amendments to D5500 Bylaws

The Council on District Legislation (CODL) will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, during the annual District Conference of Clubs. The deadline to submit to DG Don Jorgensen proposals to amend the D5500 Bylaws is Tuesday, August 8, 2023.

Educate - Inspire - Entertain!

If you haven't registered for the Annual District 5500 Conference yet, be sure to do so. We're excited to announce our Saturday luncheon keynote Erin Gruwell, whose impact as a teacher inspired the 2007 Paramount Pictures movie Freedom Writers, starring Oscar winner Hilary Swank as Erin. The film is based on The Freedom Writers Diary, Erin's New York Times bestseller that chronicles her extraordinary journey with 150 high school students who dubbed themselves the "Freedom Writers" in homage to the Freedom Riders of the Civil Rights Movement.
