Growing up in New England I visited Plimoth Plantation many times and always marveled at the courage and effort necessary to forge a new life in a new world–and to coexist peacefully with the natives of that land. Sadly, that cooperation did not last beyond a generation, but as we know, the quest for peace is an unending challenge.
I wish you and every member of our extended Rotary family joy, peace, good health, favor, and love on this Thanksgiving Day. We Rotarians across southern Arizona truly are people of action, and your tireless commitment to service, great fellowship, and creating hope in the world, is an inspiration.
And as W.J. Cameron said, "Thanksgiving after all, is a word of action."
Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
One more thing: I still have no idea how pumpkin pie tastes when I do have room for it.

After reviewing the recent challenges and participation levels, the leadership of the Four Way Test Speech Contest has decided to create a revised and updated model to re-invigorate the Contest, including a move from spring to fall of 2024.
Membership is everyone’s job, but there needs to be someone in each club coordinating the club’s activities and someone at the District leading the actions to educate and help clubs improve their membership activities. The District needs someone to take the District Membership role starting in the 2024-25 year. It is typically a three-year assignment.
An annual December club project for Rotary Tucson Verde is a cleanup of the Painted Hills Trails Park, a project in partnership with Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation. Caring for the natural environment is an area of focus for the environmental-based club.
