The new member induction process should be special for the inductee and for the club members.  You will lose an opportunity to start off on the right foot with the new members if your induction is simply a "welcome to the club" and a badge.  To add to the importance of the induction, ask the inductee to invite family members so they can see what Rotary is.  Ask your AG, or even the DG, for assistance in the induction.

Below are some examples of scripts.

  • This script is rather formal to impress on the new members the privileges and responsibilities of being a Rotarian.  It is a multi-speaker format.  The induction ceremony could be a substitute for a speaker that week, especially of the new member gives a bio of him/herself.  Here is the same document in Spanish.
  • This script is for Assistant Governors who are asked to induct a new member.
  • This script for induction of a club president.  This one is for the club board inductions.
